/ what drives us
A Legacy Product.
What’s necessary
Strip away the frills to find what’s genuinely useful, then focus on that.
What’s Good
There’s always a tradeoff—strong vs. light, simple vs. capable, cheap vs. lasting. We design what feels right to us, then let real use decide.
What’s right
Treat people and nature with respect. Whether it’s a teammate, a customer or the places we’re lucky enough to visit, treat them all how you’d like to be treated. We all share this same house.
/ Engineering & quality
Made for the Long Haul.
We design against time - meaning we’re trying to make a product that will last. We’re also design-heads, so we spend many, many hours thinking about fasteners, breaking angles, and machining tolerances in order that each product works incredibly well on its own, and in the overall system.
Our materials are chosen because they’re strong, not because they are cheap. Our manufacturing partners understand that and the quality of our products reflect that.
Testing at RFS is a mixture of cad-analysis (because we’re nerds) and putting our products through the ringer in the real world (because we actually use this stuff). Looking good on a computer screen doesn’t mean anything if something doesn’t hold up on the job site.
We believe that making longer-lasting products benefits both the people who use them and the environment, because it keeps things out of landfills and in your camp- or work-site.

It’s never about a product. It’s about what it sparks. We engineer the excuse. You design the adventure.
